I wanted to interrupt the travel blogging to let friends and family in Houston and Galveston know that I´m following the storm as best I can, and will be there with you in thoughts and prayers later tonight when I understand Ike is supposed to make landfall. Lets all pray that it makes a last minute detour like Gustav did for New Orleans.
My Dad has volunteered to go with Dr. Dearing Garner´s group, CERI, to assist with South Texas storm refugees. At least that´s what the e'mail he sent us said. I assume he made it. So he´ll be out of harm´s way.
Not sure but I imagine Steve is staying in town to assist with phone recovery efforts. Please remember him and his family too.
