Happy 70th, Mom

Today would have been my mother's 70th birthday. Not that you'd have ever suspected it were she still with us. Measured by sheer energy and vitality, she was about 32. She grew busier and stronger as she grew older. Many of her hundreds of friends were more than half her age.

I still can't really bear to write or talk much more about Mom than I did last March 28th. But on this her 70th birthday, let me again thank the many of you who've helped us in so many ways since her passing. So many of her friends have done so many incredible things for our family, all of which testifies to your love for her. So many people have said such kind things to me and my Dad and brothers and sister in law about her, and shared your many memories of her with us. This has lifted our spirits and helped us cope with the difficult times.

I sometimes forget that we shared Mom with so many others. Its no exaggeration at all to recall that Miss Birdie was beloved not only in Kingwood, but everywhere in the world she visited and loved children deprived of affection and care.

To all of you who still hold her dear in your hearts or who feel her loss along with us, thanks and we're with you too.
